Sheltered from the Night

This photo was taken at 10:00PM from across the Ala Wai Canal, looking toward the Convention Center in Honolulu. A lone figure was curled up on a park bench, sleeping beneath the shelter of a row of trees that line the canal. Lamp light provides the only illumination, as the trees block out all other night lights. A trash container is to the left of the bench and lamp post. The stone wall is part of the massive architecture of the Convention Center. The canal waters are just off-camera in the foreground.
