![]() The Kalakaua Avenue Bridge This photo was made at the same spot along the Ala Wai canal and on the same evening as my previous post, but looks in the opposite direction toward the Kalakaua Avenue bridge. The right end of the bridge leads to Waikiki, while the left end leads back in the general direction of the Makiki section of Honolulu. Traffic is quite heavy on this bridge so white headlights and red tail lights of passing traffic send streaming lines across the image. In this case, a bus passed over the bridge, making the tracers higher than would be the case with automobiles. The sparkling lights that appear to be rising into the night sky are actually the lights of homes along a hillside that stretches to the north of the city. The color and tone of the picture makes the hillside look like part of the night sky. ISO 400, 2.5s, f/4.5, 70mm of 70-300mm | |
