Agave II

While I am on the subject of succulents, here's a photo of another plant that was growing in the same general area as the one in yesterday's post. The infinite variety of plants and ways to look at them is one of the delights of filming in Hawaii. Notice the fern-like bas relief on two of the leaves facing the camera. Scientists tell us this type of plant has roots in primordial earth. This one looks as if it took its own picture of a fern and imprinted it on its own smooth leaf. I also like the subtle bands of color of the leaves.
