![]() Cloud Bank and Piercing Sun This afternoon I was driving along Highway 1 when I noticed a cloud bank moving in from the north side of the Ko'olau Mountains. It clipped off the top of a nearby peak and spilled into a portion of the adjacent valley. The sun was still shining brightly on my side of the mountains and for a brief time the sun and clouds clashed, filling the sky with a strong but diffused light, and on the ground creating bright splashes of color mixed with a shroud of low moving clouds. I had my camera with me and pulled off the highway long enough to capture this shot. It was an unusual lighting effect for mid-afternoon. ISO 100, 1/250s, f/13, 180mm of 70-300mm | |
