flower

Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden IV

The flower in the top photo is the first of many buds to open on this branch of a tree that is covered with such blossoms. There were perhaps four or five such trees together in the garden, which made quite a show of color.

As evident in the bottom photo the leaves on these trees are lacy, fern-like leaves perhaps a foot long and four to six inches wide when fully grown. The tree itself grew to about fifteen feet in height and was lush and dense with leaves and flowers.
