Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden VIII

Hibiscus is the state flower of Hawaii and everywhere you turn you will find red and yellow varieties and an occasional orange version too. This is the first time I have ever seen a white hibiscus. It was growing near the visitor center at the garden. An employee of the garden saw me making this picture and came out to volunteer the information that it has a mild fragrance early in the morning. During the course of the day the scent is no longer evident. Since I was there in the mid-morning I was able to sense a faint fragrance still lingering in the center of the bloom. The water droplets in the image occurred because of a brief shower shortly before I returned to the visitor's center on my way out of the garden.
