![]() Dawn's Early Rays I awoke early one morning this past weekend and decided to catch the first light of day on the eastern shoreline out of Honolulu. Unfortunately, dark clouds hid the sun when it first peeked over the horizon and I could not get the image I wanted to capture. However with patience a brief while later the clouds and sun began to interact and rays of morning light filled the sky and poured down on the ocean. This image was made at 6:35AM. The wind was blowing fiercely and despite using a tripod I decided to use a fairly fast shutter speed because I kept jiggling the set-up in the wind. The image looks more peaceful than was the case.
