abstract

Eye of God

This abstract image was created from a painting hanging in my home. The original art piece is a drawing of a kimono. By rotating the camera while using a slow shutter speed I was able to convert the original image into a circular abstract which I have named 'Eye of God' because of the similarity of the image with the pupil of an eye. The gold area then becomes reminiscent of the shape of skin around an eye. Admittedly this is quite interpretive, but then most abstract photographs and art are highly interpretive. I originally posted this in a challenge requiring 'blurred motion'. It did not score particularly well for a variety of reasons, but some voters loved it and even bookmarked it as one of their 'favorites'. Since the reaction was so mixed, I thought I would repost it and see what others thought. Comments and your critique are especially welcome.
