![]() ...A Stairway to Heaven. For many people, a good beach is pure heaven on earth. I like the beach at Ala Moana Park in Honolulu in part because of the old walkway built by the Army Corps of Engineers many years ago. There are flights of stairs, such as this one, vine-covered walkways, and low walls all along the beach. The woman in the background was using an ordinary rain umbrella to shelter herself and a small child from the sun. It kept falling over and moments after this photo was made she put it away. I took a five-hour walk with my camera yesterday and made nearly 300 images to replenish my depleted inventory. It was great fun, good exercise and plenty of sunshine.
