 Bird of Paradise I've photographed this beautiful, sculptural flower before, but never as a macro shot. The opportunity to make the image with back lighting was irresistable given the colors and strong shapes. This is a cropped version of the original photo (which you can see here). While the original photo has some attractive qualities, it also has problems like the leaf blocking a portion of the flower. So I chose to try the macro image instead.
