Earthquake Lights

This photo was made the night of the Hawaii earthquake. Power was off all over the city for eight to twelve hours. The only lights that could be seen are those of hotels with generators, security lights operated on battery power, and makeshift flashlight and candlelight.

To give you a comparison to normal lighting at this spot, click here to see how much light exists at 1AM, a time when most people are already home and asleep. Today's post was made before 8PM, a time when activity would normally be plentiful.

ISO 100, 13.0s, f/3.5, 18mm of 18-55mm
