standing in the sun

Catching Rays

It's a good thing trees don't need sunscreen. This lone palm bakes every afternoon at the edge of Ala Moana Park in Honolulu. Shooting into the sun makes for tough lighting conditions, with some parts of the image blown out from the strength of the afternoon sun and others silhouetted. Nevertheless, I like how the peach colored light beneath the clouds still manages to be strong despite the washed out sun and clouds near the top of the photo.
