![]() A Lava Fields Sunset After driving to the end of Chain of Craters Road we parked the car and hiked over the lava fields for about three miles in order to get closer to the live lava flows. The red lava is best seen after dark, so we carried flashlights to guide us back again. This image was made about two miles into the lava fields as the sun dropped low in the sky behind us. At this point we were committed to an after dark hike as we could not have returned before darkness descended. ISO 100, 1/80s, f/14.0, 53mm of 18-55mm | |
