 Happy New Year! This triptych of a Lion Dance on elevated pedestals commemorates Chinese New Year as celebrated in Honolulu. These two men jumped from pedestal to pedestal as they danced for an audience that was jammed into the Chinese Cultural Plaza this weekend. If you look carefully you'll notice that each pedestal is not much bigger than a man's foot (paw) print. What made their dance even more impressive was the fact that it rained shortly before they performed, and the pedestals were still a bit wet despite efforts to dry them with towels.
