Contemplating Surf and Sun

Photographs of surfers are easy to make in Hawaii. Just walk in any direction until you reach the ocean and you are likely to find someone enjoying Hawaii's favorite sport. This image was made on the north shore. The surfer held this position for perhaps four or five minutes. It had been overcast most of the afternoon when the clouds parted just enough to bathe him in sunlight. I made the photograph because of the Zen feel it imparts.

ISO 100, 1/400s, f/10.0, 300mm of 70-300mm
