![]() Pendulum This abstract photo is the end result of an experimental process I have been using, with heavy reliance on Photoshop for the finished image. For those who may be interested, I used a long exposure to photograph a purple flower, intentionally holding the camera rather than using a tripod so I would get a blurred result. I then used levels and curves to brighten the colors, then ran the hue slider until the orange and blue colors appeared. I then filtered it by distorting the image with polar coordinates (going from rectangle to polar). I then cropped the photo to use only that portion that interested me: the balance between orange and blue with the 'pendulum' between the two colors. The permutations on this process are endless, with rather ordinary photos taking on rather dramatic abstract results. I have added an 'abstracts' gallery to link more of these experiments in the future. I hope you enjoy them. I know they are not for everyone, but then nothing is.
