A Stairway Exposed

For two days in a row I have noticed how sunlight late in the afternoon reflects off the side of a nearby building (not seen in this photo) into the windows of other buildings, then into my home. It's as if light is playing a game of billiards and I'm sitting in the side pocket. Yesterday I pulled out my camera to record the light. While shooting I got interested in the open staircase in new construction at one of the buildings. The warm tones of the wood railings lit by sunlight contrast with the colder cement slabs and stairs in the shadows. The rickety railings will be replace by a permanent structure when the work is finished. For now, it provides a temporary photo opportunity in the afternoon light.
