![]() A Precarious Balance Back on July 20th I posted a picture of some spoons fanned out on a reflective surface. At the time I made some other shots, including this one. I like simple images and even though a picture of spoons doesn't really amount to anything, learning to process a simple image is important as it forces one to concentrate on the details because there is no color or interest value to distract attention from the basics. In this one, unlike the earlier post, the counter top is processed to provide a darker background with which to work. Both images were shot with the same available light coming through a window at the same place on the same counter top about 45 minutes apart. (As an aside, it should be aparent that I am easily amused with next to nothing...just give me a few spoons and a camera and I can entertain myself for hours. I made more than 20 photos of various pieces of silverware on that occasion. I must have too much time on my hands.) ISO 100, 20s, f/40.0, e.c. -1, 135mm of 70-300mm | |
