Ho'omaluhia Landscape

I went back to the Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden this afternoon. I haven't gone on a photo shoot at this garden since July, 2006, and it clearly has been too long between visits (the earlier photos can be seen by checking the gallery for that month, below).

We are coming into the rainy season, our version of winter, so there were not as many flowers to photograph. Fortunately, I discovered a trail around the lake that went unnoticed the last time I was in the garden and had a grand time photographing the marsh waters and some of the lush foliage that is so prevalent this time of year. This first image comes from the far end of the lake, looking back toward the Ko'olau Mountains on the windward side of the island. I used an HDR process from two photos to make the final image.
