![]() Form and Light This photograph of a shitaki mushroom emphasizes form and light, and has an abstract aspect to it. Like clouds sometimes do on a summer's day, this image is susceptible to interpretive thinking. The mushroom was photographed on a piece of black velvet cloth laid on my dining room table for the purpose of isolating the mushroom against a black background. Light came from an overhead fixture. I have been studying noise reduction and intensionally used a high ISO number to see how much noise I could remove from a photograph that started out relatively grainy. In hindsight I think the rough texture of this type of mushroom makes it difficult to test how much noise was eliminated without losing sharp details. ISO 1600, 3.2s, f/22.0, e.c. 0, 50mm | |
